If burglars and criminals have access to black market weapons, then I surely do not want to be at a disadvantage if someone strung out on drugs breaks into my house and is armed with a handgun, a shotgun, etc. It is arguably easier to obtain a firearm on the black market, then it is for a law abiding citizen. Again, the process took 6 months and was extensive, which I respect and applaud. Pistols should not end up in the hands of anyone and everyone.They are easy to hide and obviously we've seen what can happen if they find themselves in the wrong hands if they are too easy to get (the Virginia Tech massacre). I do not think everyone should have the realization of the license, but you wonder if someone had been armed when he / she would have been able to save a life or two in this case. Even if lives could have been saved, the risk far outweighs the advantage of all armed. The good thing is that it does not happen too often in New York, at least.
