Community Notes

* The Jasonville Senior Citizen Center, located south of Main Source Bank in Jasonville, will host a pancake breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. The menu is pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee. Donations will be accepted. Proceeds will be used to purchase new light covers for cente and also for wallpaper border.

Saturday, June 18

* The H-H-H-H 4-H Club of Coal City will be selling hot dogs and drinks at Orscheln from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information contact Mona Hamilton at (812) 821-0461.

* The Red Bonnett Belles will meet at 11 a.m. at Pamida in Bloomfield to carpool to Clay City. The group will eat the the Glory Days restaurant.

* The Lyons Senior Center will host a breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Menu will include pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, coffee, juice and milk. Donations will be accepted.

* Union Church will host a gospel sing at 7 p.m. The Higher Ground Singers will featured along with local singers. The church is located between Solsberry and Hendricksville on State Road 43.

* The Linton Moose will have the live sounds of the "Nosey Joe Band" from 8-11 p.m. The public is invited. All money benefits charity.

* The annual Scotland Community Yard Sales will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Breakfast will be served from 7-9:30 a.m. in the community room of the fire station by the Scotland United Methodist Church. The Scotland Full Gospel Church will serve sandwiches, desserts, and drinks in its Fellowship Hall throughout the day. Maps of the yard sale locations will be available at the fire station and The Curiosity Shoppe on the day of the sales. The event is sponsored by the Scotland United Methodist Church. * The Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Linton Freedom Run at 8 a.m. at the Linton-Stockton High School track. There will be a 5K run and two-mile walk. Entry fee is $16 for those who pre-register and $19 for those who sign up the day of the event. Entry fee includes a T-shirt and ribbon. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. You may register early by calling 847-4846.

Monday, June 20

* The Linton City Council will meet in special session at 7 p.m. at the city hall.

*The Greene County Commissioners will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m. in the third floor meeting room at the courthouse in Bloomfield.

* The Linton-Stockton Board of School Trustees will meet in executive session at 6 p.m.

Hi, I am Amy! I am a crafty wife and mom to four great kids. I love quilting and dreaming in fabric. Most days my kids keep me on my toes, but when I have the chance to sit at the kitchen table and create I am at ease. Quilting is my creative therapy and I love sharing here with you!

While our family does live in Utah, we are not LDS (Mormon). Our faith is Jesus Christ, and I strive to emulate Him in all that I say and do (write) in life and on this blog. I truly hope that you enjoy your time spent here with me!

This is wonderful!!! I’m planning on teaching my girl to sew this summer (she’s a little older – 9). I think it will be good for her. I’ve taught her to knit, she has woven with me and we’re starting to work on a crochet granny square afghan for her room in rainbow colours.
