FRIDAY Art Reception HOT SPRINGS - Jane Fitch and Sheliah Halderman will exhibit their latest artwork at the Mountain Valley Water Company Headquarters, 510 Central Ave. in downtown Hot Springs, during June and July. All are invited to the opening reception from 5-9 p.m. Friday during Gallery Walk to meet these artists.

SATURDAY Open House HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - The Hot Springs Village Recreation Department will hold an open house for the DeSoto Pools from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission will be free during open house hours. The DeSoto Pool (501-922-5051) is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and is located between the DeSoto Golf Course and the DeSoto Family Recreation Area. Swimming lessons are offered throughout the summer for children age 6 months and older.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY National Open House HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - Hot Springs Village will participate in the National Open House on Saturday and Sunday. Realtors will be at the east and west gates to assist buyers who want to look at homes for sale in Hot Springs Village. All visitors will be greeted by a real estate agent and given information about the homes for sale, as well as materials promoting Hot Springs Village.

SUNDAY Art Reception HOT SPRINGS - Hot Springs’ Garvan Woodland Gardens will host the next Hot Springs Village Brush Strokes members’ exhibit. The show is titled “The Wonders of Nature.” A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. The exhibit will be on view in the Magnolia Room through Monday, June 27. TUESDAY Book Discussion ARKADELPHIA - The Clark County Historical Association will present Bill Downs Jr., who will discuss his new book, Stories of Survival: Arkansas Farmers During the Great Depression, at 2 p.m. at the Clark County Historical Museum, 750 S. Fifth St.Downs, a journalism professor who retired from Ouachita Baptist University, will discuss his stories of ordinary people dealing with extraordinary hardships, then answer questions from the audience.
